Bye Bye Summer

This summer has been fun but also lots of hard work.  It's been pretty stressful at times but I'll still really miss it, so here's a post dedicated to some of the photos I've taken this summer that I haven't yet posted.  I'm excited for fall but not really excited for school :( and I can't believe September's already here!  Anyway, enjoy! xx

Hey guys!  I've gotten lots of questions on tumblr and I figured I'd answer them here in one place.  They range from requests for blog posts to random questions about me, and I have been saying on tumblr that I'd make this post, so here it is!  Enjoy! xx

Requested blog posts that are coming soon:

  • Sweater collection
  • Everyday makeup routine
  • Favorite food/ drink/ dessert recipes

Q: Where do you shop for clothing/ beauty products?

A: Urban Outfitters, Madewell, Brandy Melville, Zara, American Apparel, Topshop, Nordstrom, Free People, Sephora, The Body Shop.  (I have some old pieces from Abercrombie, but I don't really shop there anymore).

Q: Where do you go for room decor/ furniture?

A: Ikea, Marshalls, Urban Outfitters, Pier 1 Imports, local gardening store (for my lil plants).  I get most of my candles from Bath and Body Works, Anthropologie, and Diptyque.

Q: Are urbanears headphones worth it?

A: I returned mine because I didnt love the sound quality and they were hurting my ears.

Q: What's your nationality?

A: 1/2 Greek and 1/2 Colombian.

Q: Places to go in nyc?

A: Union Square, Soho, Central Park, uh uh some of my favorite cute lil places for food and stuff are Happy Bones Café, Amorino Gelato, Max Brenner, Juice Generation, Lauderée, Popbar, David's Tea, The Butcher's Daughter.

Q: What are your favorite iPhone apps?

A: Definitely VSCO cam, PicFrame, Squaready, Instagram, Sleep Cycle, Spotify, Embark NYC, PumpUp.

Q: Do you have a workout routine?

A: I occasionally run and go to hot yoga, although with school starting and everything I'm hoping to get back on a set schedule and back in good shape.  Along with hot yoga and going on runs, I do some toning exercises in my room with the PumpUp app.

Q: Do you think one "cheat day" is bad?  Will I gain weight?

A: Cheating once in a while is really okay.  Weight is gained from constant bad eating habits, meaning eating unhealthy food frequently.  It's ok to have a cheat meal, day, or even week, just know that at some point you will get back on track and everything will be all good.  Although its important to feel good and healthy, its also ok for you to treat yourself occasionally without feeling guilty!

What's in my Bag, New Pickups and Vanilla Lattes

I've been super busy with summer homework and I haven't really gone anywhere.  I went to a few stores to get a new bag for school and some makeup, as long as supplies for vanilla lattes, etc.  Yesterday I went over to my boyfriend's house and came home and watched The Fault in Our Stars (finally ah) so I haven't really taken photos.  Basically what I'm trying to say is that the past week has been pretty hectic so here's an assorted blog post, enjoy! xx

What's in my bag:

Not pictured- water bottle, sun glasses, gum, lip balm, camera.

Pictured (left to right)- Casio gold watch, hand sanitizer, a journal or novel, sea salt hairspray, travel sized perfume, face moisturizer, hand cream, iPhone 5s, lip gloss, earphones, bronzer, blush, makeup brushes, blotting linens, free people vegan leather tote.

New pickups:

My dad gave me one of his old sweaters which I love because its oversized and super cozy.  The material is really comfortable and I can't wait to wear it!

Bobbi Brown Bronzer in light tan.

Marc Jacobs Daisy travel perfume.

Free People Vegan Leather Tote bag in black.

I tried starfruit for the first time which was interesting.  It tastes like a cross between an apple and a plum which made it a little too tart for me but it was okay!

My favorite coffee drink is a vanilla latte, and these are the ingredients I use!  (+ milk).

Da Vinci Vanilla syrup, Illy espresso coffee, Aerolatte milk frother (I only use this if the latte is going to be hot).

Finished product in my Max Brenner "Drink Me" cup.

Teeny Beauty Product Review

Okay so this is gonna be a super short review on a few beauty products I've recently purchased/ gotten as gifts.  I have requests on my tumblr for a skincare/ haircare and makeup routine post which I'm still working on, but for now I hope you enjoy this short review! xx

So I got these two things as gifts, and I have to say I love them both!  For body care I always use either Soap & Glory body butters or The Body Shop body butters because they're so moisturizing, absorb quickly, and are not sticky.  As for the REN gel cream, its used for troubled skin/ acne prone skin.  I've struggled with a lot of deep acne on my forehead over the past year, and it's recently gotten better after my doctor prescribed me a skin medication called clindamycin.  However, after using the medication every night, my skin would get super dry so I would have to use a lot of moisturizer.  Because I also have oily skin, the moisturizer would cause another problem for me and make my skin super shiny.  This product works well because it moisturizes my skin while keeping it matte.  I already see even more of an improvement in my acne and I'm really excited to keep using this product!  I've also stopped wearing foundation and I have found that keeping my skin free of makeup is really helping as well.

I also received this Bliss Spa Fabulips set which I used last night and this morning and I have to say my lips are feeling and looking great (hehe).  I've always constantly put burts bees lip balm and cocoa butter onto my lips, and they usually aren't dry, but I've found that the lip balm in this set stays on my lips a lot longer and seems to be keeping them even more moisturized.  I like the scrub from this set but I've found that it isn't super grainy, so I mix it with my Lush mint julips sugar lip scrub (pictured below) for a more exfoliating effect.  I had also purchased the Bite agave nectar lip mask last week after using up my sample from sephora because it works so so well.  I use the lip mask after using the Fabulips system at night.

When I style my hair I find that it doesn't have much texture so I had been trying lots of different sea salt sprays hoping that something would help to bring texture into my hair.  I picked up this Drybar mai tai spritzer sea salt spray from sephora and the coco loco sea spray from shore soap co in rhode island.  I use the Drybar spray after I'm done styling my hair, and I keep the shore soap co spray in my bag so I can refresh my hair during the day! x

Fall Outfits

Hi guys!  Okay so I decided to finally put this together after working on it for a while.  Although I'm dreading going back to school, I'm really excited for fall because I love the weather.  So I've been working on some outfit ideas for the fall and I've used polyvore as the website to put the sets together.  Some of them include the same items although I tried to avoid it, and I'll probably end up adding new sets as I discover new items!  Some must haves for fall in my opinion are chelsea boots or doc martens, a comfy flannel, tons of cozy sweaters (thin and thick ones), a nice leather bag, a warm travel mug, and a cozy hat.  Enjoy! xx

Old Hobbies and New Pickups

Okay so I didn't post anything yesterday because I wanted to wait for today to have better quality photos.  So yesterday I went to a bead and charm store with my mom and sister which was cool because I found tons of nice stuff.  I used to love making jewelry and I'm getting into it again which is exciting for me.  This store was really nicely set up and they had tons and tons of charms which was really overwhelming at first.  I had been wanting to find a necklace with a crystal hanging from it and also a necklace with a small eye charm, but I wasn't able to find anything like that anywhere.  To my surprise I found both things in this cute store and the best part was that I was able to design both necklaces myself!  I bought a pack of a bunch of crystals and wire to wrap them, eye charms, gold chains, clasps, other beads, etc.  After that we went into a cute cafe where I got coconut oolong tea (yum) and a muffin.  At night I went to a really yummy dinner at an italian restaurant for my friend's birthday woo!

 ♡ ♡

Today I did a little shopping with my mom and then went to another italian restaurant for lunch which was also really yummy.  Afterwards, my little cousin gave me a big mason jar full of gummy bears for my birthday (my favorite).  Now I'm blogging and drinking a vanilla iced latte I made!  Enjoy! xx
